This past 4th of July weekend Beakfast with Mike was at the Oregon Coast attending a wedding. While at first excited to be staying at the Holiday Inn Express and having fresh cinnamon rolls and biscuits & gravy every morning, I found that it didn’t quite live up to the standards of my refined breakfast palatte. So on the drive home to Seattle after a late night of drinking and celebrating the new marital bliss of our good friends, nothing sounded better than a good, greasy breakfast! Upon the recommendation of some local friends in Longview, WA we stopped at Stuffy’s II Restaurant which definitely fit the bill. This place has the kitsch of a 50’s diner, a quirky staff and insanely massive portions only found in small town America.
For breakfast, I split a large order of Stuff with a friend and between the two of us big eaters, we barely made a dent in it. The Stuff is a great mix of shredded hash browns, ham, cheese, onions, peppers and tomatoes. It also comes with gravy on top which I opted to keep on the side and found better without. I couldn’t eat this type of massive breakfast every day, but after a night of drinking this was pretty good. Not as good as the Montana Special at 12th Avenue Cafe (Issaquah, WA), but worth trying if you’re ever in Longview, WA.
