Jamie of all Trades Guest Post: Buckley’s

Jamie of all Trades here and I’m honored to be covering a meal while Breakfast with Mike is in Vegas {tip: Black 32, never fails.}  For those of you who know me you might be wondering why someone who does not eat eggs is covering breakfast?  Well, that doesn’t mean I can’t appreciate a good breakfast!  I always think eggs Benedict or a Southwest omelet looks so good.
On a lovely Sunday morning following a fun Saturday night out, a large group of us headed to Buckley’s Queen Anne location to enjoy their Blunch.  Severed on weekends from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. it was the perfect place for breakfast beacons and lunch lovers.   First thing you should know about Buckley’s, the Bloody Mary should not be missed.  Great flavor, stiff, you can have as little or as much spicy as you like.  And these guys don’t skip on the accoutremonts – the classic olives, then peppers and a shrimp; served with a beer back of PBR.  Good morning!
On to the menu:
Here’s what our party dined on – biscuits and gravy with a healthy side of bacon, eggs Brenda, a southwest egg dish that was more like egg nachos, and I went with the gardenburger and fries, I mean, it was 11:30 after all.
The biscuits and gravy were some of the biggest biscuits I’ve ever seen.  Good chunky gravy and served with a side of bacon that could feed an army.  {side note, they originally brought it out with sausage and brought out a plate of bacon when we reminded them we ordered the bacon, great service recovery!}  The eggs Brenda were their version of eggs Benedict.  The traditional eggs, ham, spinach, Hollandaise sauce but served over focaccia bread and came with a side of potatoes.  I didn’t have a bite of this but was told it was delicious.
The MVP dish was the southwest eggs but probably could moonlight at egg nachos.  A crisp tortilla shells covered with the good stuff beans, cheese, eggs, salsa and sour cream.  Everyone at the table had major food envy.
If you’re not a breakfast person and want to go the lunch route, Buckley’s has great options.  I went with the Gardenburger which was decent.  I’ve been to Buckely’s plenty of times before and would recommend the Pulled Pork Sandie or Turkey Club before the Gardenburger.  Served with their classic Parmesan fries, you can swap for Sweet Potato fries for an additional charge.
I highly recommend Buckley’s if you’re a group looking for a good mix between Breakfast and Lunch.   There are lots of options for both sides, service is great, plenty of TVs so you don’t miss an important game and the Bloody Mary is one you have to try.
