Breakfast with Mike Goes to Scottsdale

in Eggs Benedict, Hash Browns

Last weekend, I went to Scottsdale and had a chance to try one of the most popular breakfast joints down there, The Breakfast Club.  The restaurant was very cool in that they specialize in breakfast and was very crowded so it must be good, right?  Well, they definitely had a more attractive staff then any breakfast joint in Seattle and they won big points because they have the choice of breakfast potatoes (lame) OR shredded hash browns (awesome).  They also had a nice variety of eggs benny, but being the traditionalist I am, I opted for the classic eggs benedict and unfortunately I must say that it wasn’t very good.  The english muffin was  stale, the ham was too thick  and the eggs were overcooked.   If you’re in Arizona and have a chance to check it out, let me know what you think…

Mike – try the Brief Encounter in Bellevue. I think their Eggs Benny are pretty good. Also – Gilbert’s in Old Bellevue. Although the service can be slow……..
Have fun!

Thanks Maris! I have been to the Brief Encounter and their eggs benny is good…I’ll have to go back and take a photo to add to the blog.

I haven’t been to Gilbert’s though so great suggestion. I’ll check it out soon!
